My Goal to Meditate Daily in 2022
Happy New Year! Here we are in 2022 and while it seems like some things have changed, it feels like a lot of things have continued on as we enter this third year of the pandemic.
I’m not a big New Year’s resolution person, but this year, I’ve been trying to dig a little deeper to find resiliency in the face of trying to constantly adapt to the ongoing challenges of the pandemic and as the only child of an aging parent.
To that end, I have set a goal to meditate daily. 15 min or longer, but doing this every day feels important to me. It’s still early in the month, and I have already noticed many changes in myself in terms of how I feel, what I am noticing in life and how I am interacting with others.
As I start to build this meditation practice, I find that having someone to guide me is super helpful. There are a number of terrific teachers who are offering guided meditation online and I have found two people in particular who really “speak to me.” I have been following their lead - and enjoying their recorded, online “company” as I start to build this new behavior. I am also starting to experiment again with sitting in silence.
I am writing about this as a way to share with you what I am currently finding works for me in terms of building a new habit or behavior. You might be reading this because you are contemplating your own change goals for 2022. I’m happy to walk with you on this journey in whatever way I can be helpful. Please feel free to reach out and let’s talk!
